York Harbor
York Harbor has beautiful views of the ocean, many boats coming and going to and from the York River is a must see. Walks across the Wiggly Bridge and along the Cliff Walk is a great way to explore the harbor waterfront.
York Harbor Beach
is a small, sandy beach, tucked into the rocky shoreline. This beach, locally known as Mothers' Beach, is perfect for toddlers because it offers public restrooms, seasonal lifeguards, gentle surf. Hartley Mason Park, which borders the beach, has shade trees and benches.
The Cliff Walk is a short trail that leads from York Harbor Beach with amazing views of York Harbor and the beach below. Other scenic hikes in the harbor include the Fisherman's Walk and Wiggly Bridge trail. Steedman Woods can be found on the other end of the Wiggly Bridge, a wooded nature reserve.
Also in York Harbor is the historic Hancock Museum and Wharf built in the mid 1700's. It is the earliest surviving structure related to maritime activity in southern Maine. The warehouse was added to the National Registry of Historic Places in 1969.
